Recently I was given the opportunity to write a guest post for the lovely Buckets Of Tea.
I discovered Buckets Of Tea a couple of months back while browsing blogs, you know how it goes, one click leads to another and I find a blog title that really catches my eye. ‘This is someone as obsessed with tea as myself’ I think.
I’d not really made direct contact with a blogger before, other than commenting on posts that I’ve enjoyed and sharing posts of interest on my social media. But this was a sign, I needed to say hi! I introduced myself as a tea fanatic and suggested that I would love to work with her sometime, you don’t get if you don’t ask, was my thinking.
I was so glad I was forthcoming when I got a reply saying she was currently looking for guest writers for a Tea Adventures series! I jumped at the chance to take part, not only is tea drinking my biggest hobby but it would also give me a chance to focus on something different.
I enjoyed the task of being given a brief as such, it focussed my writing in a totally different way. Although I still wanted to put across how disability can affect all areas of my life, this put a different twist on that. Most of my writing so far has been based on events, tales of experiences on particular days in my life. This post was to be something more general, something very everyday (in my case many times a day!), something that people take for granted. Making a cup of tea.

I really enjoyed writing this guest post and I hope to get the opportunity to write more (please get in touch if you think I could be your guest!). It’s great to take your writing on a different path sometimes, you never know what thoughts it might lead to!
Maybe once I’m a little more grounded and confident in this blogging lark I could feature some guest posts too!
