Twenty Questions

Twenty Questions with – Justine, The Tea Chest

It’s mid November and I feel like we are back in April for many reasons, except the weather.

Another month means another dose of my reignited series Twenty Questions.

I would like to introduce you to Justine at The Tea Chest. A lady that’s love of tea is even greater than my own. I know, right?!

I discovered The Tea Chest around a year ago, when I saw the blog title pop up I knew this was one for me.

An eclectic mix of tea recipes, historical tales, health benefits and travel adventures I’m always discovering something new when I drop by for a visit.

My Questions/Justine’s Answers

1. What made you decide to write a blog?

I like to write and felt that by writing about something I was passionate about it would inspire me to keep at it and spread the word about tea and all things related to tea. It is easy to be genuine when you love something enough to write about it.

2. What do you want your blog to achieve?

Tea is an age old traditional and spirtual entity, I want to encourage and enlighten people about the tea culture, share my discoveries and knowledge about tea so the traditions and feelings of tea brewing and savouring don’t get lost.

3. What is your biggest flaw?

I overthink everything!  No more needs to be said!

4. What is your best attribute?

I am loyal and reliable, if I say I will do something I will do it.

5. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?

Cheese…mmmm blue cheese, camembert, brie, vintage…♥

8. What is your favourite way to relax?

Shakti Mat with a book and a cup of herbal tea at the moment but when on land I love to garden.

9. If you could interview any human, dead or alive, who would it be and what would you ask?

Neil Armstrong; so tell me about the moon, and about those flags?

10. What would be your dream job?

To own a specialist Envitonmentally friendly Tea Shoppe, glass jars with beautiful teas, teawares, books about teas, recipes made daily that used tea leaves, tea blending courses and special tea cosy creating classes could all be held there ♥

11. You’ve just won 10 million pounds (congratulations!), what 3 things would you do with the money?

Pay off my mortgage, set up our families and buy a piece of land, put a yurt on it and have it completly self sufficient. You know water wheel, solar panels, vegetable and herb gardens, orchard, chickens the whole shebang!

14. If you could play any part in a film, past or future, real or fiction, who would you be?

Lara Croft – totally bad ass

15. If there was a pill that would freeze you at your current age and you could live forever as you are now, would you take it? And why?

Hello there, I’m Justine – the face of the Tea Chest Blog. I am a loyal New Zealander who loves tea ♥ I started the Tea Chest Blog about 18 months ago, the initial reason was to share my passion and love for all things TEA related. To build the tea culture, to keep the history and traditions of tea ceremonies and production alive. I love discovering new teas from all over the world and sharing them with everyone. There is so much more to tea than just a drink, there is a process, a ceremony, a meditation if you like in every soulful cup. My ideal is to impress tea in a way that we take time to brew, saviour, sip and breathe. Enjoy and happy tea drinking.

Happy Tea Drinking ♥

Thank you to Justine for a brilliant interview. I love your outlook on life and lifestyle goals. I’m with you on the cheese obsession. And please can I come to The Tea Shoppe grand opening?

      1. My next trip to Ireland, I want to do the big bus thing–there’s so much to see! Justine was a great interview! I’ll tell you, Gemma, I’m working on a novel in which one of the main characters, an 18-year-old young woman, is going deaf. This novel might go absolutely nowhere, but one of the challenges I face with it is that I am a hearing person–very cognizant about disability representation. All that’s to say I may eventually have something interesting to discuss, if I were lucky enough to be interviewed by you! I’ll keep you posted. (Gotta get the whole draft out first!) Stay safe and well!

      2. Very true, and thank you, Gemma! I’m so grateful to have such a supportive–and always informative and entertaining, too!–blogging community. You’re putting great stuff out into the blogosphere, and I always learn something from your posts! Hopefully, you’ll be back to your concerts soon, but until then you’ve done a good job pivoting to other topics!

  2. Such a treat to pop in to visit Gemma and Justine is here! Yes cheese one of my favorite foods also. Laura Croft hello!! Would love to be a badass. Ireland oh yeah was there a few years ago and loved it. I think one of my wishes would be for the three of us to have tea at one of the amazing tea places Gemma has showcased.
