Best Nine 2018 – Blogging Celebrations

Happy New Year’s Eve!

I know we say it all the time, and I sound about 90 years old, but I really can’t believe 2018 is almost over. It’s been a mix of a year, as is life.

New Year’s Eve is a time for celebration and reflection. Looking back on achievements and regrets and making goals for the future. A fresh start as such. At the risk of sounding like a 90 year old again, I’m not much for parties and staying up late. My ideal way of seeing the new year in is asleep. It will happen whether I’m there drunk and giggling or not!

I’ve blogged more in 2018 than I’ve blogger before, written more words than ever. Some of those might have been quite a ramble, but I do feel I’ve settled in to blogging this year. It has become something I have to do, something I get withdrawal from if I don’t. Even if sometimes the words don’t come when I want them to, I spend that time reading other blogs and wanting to write.

That’s one of the great things about blogging, the community. Often people dismiss the friendships that can be found online. You can’t like a person you don’t even know! You can. One even sent me tea and a Christmas card. There are lovely people out there.

Although my posts have become more diverse, my focus hasn’t changed. I write as a person with wheels, so naturally my perspective of most things comes from that point, however small. Often it is the smallest things that can make for a better day, like this amazing lift!

It can be scary putting yourself and your words out there for anybody to find. Blogging has been nothing but positive for me though. It’s allows me to be creative in a new way. This year blogging has given me opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise. Some of my accessible toilet reviews have been published in a Zine, I was interviewed by a researcher about access to spas, and I was even nominated for a blogging award. I’m yet to buy my nominee cake!

To end 2018 on a blogging high I would like to share with you some of my top posts. I also invite you to share one of your top posts in the comments, it could be the most liked, one that has the most shares, or means something to you. Let’s party like it’s 1999 but still be in bed by 10pm!

    1. Ha, it’s my daily life too!
Thank you for the kind words and your support over the past year. Blogging wouldn’t be the same, or anything, without such a wonderful community.
I wish you a very happy and healthy 2019.

    1. Thank you, I feel blogging covers so many mediums I had to take them all into account! It was interesting seeing what types of posts were seen more on different platforms.

  2. Good morning lovely. Happy New Year! I did have a 2am finish, but was sober as a judge as I was driving. Iv enjoyed following along with you again this year, and our shared love of tea is worthy of awards haha Im not sure what my favourite blog post I wrote was, probably the ones that spark the most discussion (my cuppa and a chat series, https://kerrylifeandloves.com/category/cuppa-and-chat/ ) as I enjoy hearing other peoples views. Conversation is my drug, I just love it. I wish you all the best for the new year my lovely, may it be a fab one xxx

    1. Happy New Year!
This was a great post of yours. I remember commenting on this complaining that I didn’t have any snow yet. Then The Best From The East came! I shouldn’t complain again! I do love snow though, when it’s fluffy.

  3. Great Roundup Gemma, for me The Last Straw was really memorable – it’s a fabulous post, and obviously of personal interest to me!
I love your Blog, I’m pleased to see you blogging more and properly setting into it. I’m sharing this, it’s not the most popular, or the most viewed, but it’s probably the one I am most proud of. Happy New Year to you and yours! Xxx
